Simon B Hester has been the Managing Director and Founder of Consulting for Pharma Ltd since May 2012. In addition between 2018 and 2019, Mr Hester was the Global Regulatory Health Strategy and Operations Market Access Manager for Reckitt Benckiser (RB) and was responsible for the Global Market Access Strategies, P&R and Price Control Strategies, and Pricing Models; and Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Strategies for all the RB Health prescription and OTC medicinal products, medical devices, borderline products, food, and nutritional supplements. He has 13 years’ experience in global P&R management consultancy, at a major medicines and medical devices manufacturer, and in senior management in health policy and public health at two UK NHS regional Payers responsible for the reimbursement of medicines and medical technology, 10 years’ experience in global Market Access and HTA, 2 years’ experience in global Competitive Intelligence management consultancy, and 8 years’ experience in Strategy management consultancy. In total, Mr Hester has 20 years’ experience in the global medicines and medical technology industries gained with a major manufacturer, in competitive and market intelligence; management consultancy, business development, market research, conference and internet content management (medical education); and at the UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). He has 22 years’ experience in primary research interviewing KOLs, Payers, industry Directors, and Pharmacists gaining Insights and generating Evidence; and team, project, strategy, contract, financial, client, vendor, and editorial management. In addition, Mr Hester has 22 years’ experience in writing business plans, proposals, value propositions, reports, dossiers, submissions, literature reviews, journal manuscripts; and secondary research information and data research and analysis gaining Insights and generating Evidence.
He has extensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and consumer health medicines and medical technology industries including all Therapeutic Areas (TAs: in particular Pulmonary including Asthma and COPD, Cardiovascular, Diabetes, Oncology, Biosimilars, Central Nervous System, CNS, Analgesia, Gastrointestinal, and Allergy); prescription (Rx) medicines and consumer health (Over The Counter, OTC) medicines, medical devices, commercialisation, market size and market data sources, drug delivery, marketing, branding, strategy, R&D, clinical research, regulatory affairs, Market Access, HTA, P&R; European and US healthcare Payer policy, health outcomes, evidence-based medicine, and the UK NHS. Mr Hester has an MPhil degree in Cardiac Physiology from the University of Liverpool and a BSc (Honours) degree in Physiology which included Pharmacology, Immunology, and Biochemistry from King’s College London, University of London.
